Treatment of cervical osteochondrosis with folk remedies can be used in addition to primary therapy or upon completion, at a stable stage of remission.
Homemade textures and scrubs work well for less severe discomfort and pain, as well as relieving morning cramps. They have mild analgesic, anti-edema and anti-inflammatory effects.
General rules
For the effect of traditional medicine to be as effective as possible, you better agree to a prescription in advance with your doctor. This will serve as a guarantee of safety and suitability of home methods. In addition, even infusions and compresses of herbs that appear harmless can distort the effects of pharmaceutical drugs and increase the risk of adverse reactions.
Components with high enough toxicity should be used with caution - for example, kerosene, as well as anonymous plants and ingredients are not found in medical reference books.
Homemade ointments and lotions are only effective for mild to moderate pain. They will help relieve pain caused by weather changes, high physical exercise or hypothermia. However, traditional treatment methods are unable to repair damaged vertebral and intervertebral discs.
Special Symptoms: How to Recognize Chondrosis
Osteochondrosis of the cervical spine is accompanied by symptoms that are difficult to miss. Even at an early stage, it can manifest itself:
- discomfort and pain in the neck, back of the head, arms and shoulder belt. The exact location and intensity of pain depends on the location of the lesion;
- decreased sensitivity and numbness, which are more frequently observed in the hands, and especially in the hands;
- decreased strength and muscle tone.
In addition to the above, symptoms of autonomic disorders may appear - increased sweating, redness or paleness on the skin, muscle swelling and chest pain. The latter is often mistaken for a heart problem, so many patients seek first aid from a cardiologist.
If the vertebral arteries are pressed, then headaches and dizziness, noise or ringing in the ears, a lump in the throat and difficulty swallowingIn rare cases, nausea and vomiting are possible.
How to treat
To cure osteochondrosis at home, various ointments, scrubs, compresses, lotions, as well as infusions and decoctions for oral administration are used. Massage and exercise sessions will help increase the effectiveness of therapy.
Before starting treatment, it is recommended to do a tolerance test, especially if you are prone to allergic reactions. A number of nuts are applied to the elbows or wrists. If after an hour there is no redness, itching or other signs of allergies, then the procedure can be done safely.
Means for oral administration - decoctions or infusions - first take half a teaspoon. Therapy is continued if there are no symptoms such as nausea, heartburn, bloating, headache, or increased blood pressure.
